Description.
Boudh Distillery Pvt. Ltd has come up with a green field grain based distillery plant in Boudh District of Odisha. It manufactures Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA). Apart from ENA DDGS and medicinal spirit are other byproducts of the plant. It is also the only ethanol producer of the state that is about to contribute towards Nation’s goal of reducing petrol import. Some portion of the project was facing stiff opposition from unaware local people misguided by vested interest groups. The 120 KLPD distillery plant project has a 4.5 KMs pipeline facility to source water from Mahanadi for industrial use. People of two local villages started opposing the pipeline and damaged the newly constructed pipeline. Two petitioners of the villages went to NGT against the pipeline project. This impacted the company’s image hugely not only locally but also in State level. In order to correct the corporate image, Spokesman started establishing Stakeholder Connect platforms for smart messaging. Starting from Stakeholder Mapping to Perception Audit to Image Corrections, Spokesman created scopes for regular dialogue with the villagers. Now the situation is, except some people of the two villages, the rest of the district is in favor of the project. The project has also got due clearances from the NGT and respective departments.
